STEP 2 - BUY YOUR PLANE TICKETS AND POSSIBLY BOOK YOUR HOTEL

N.b: try to be quick :)

About Hotels and Airbnbs in Sharm el Sheikh

Many of you have asked me if I can recommend hotels or Airbnbs. If your budget allows, I recommend booking a room at the Renaissance, which is at a stone's throw from the dive site. Avoid the Jaz Fanara, which is noisy and has bad reputation. It is important that you feel comfortable and can get some well-deserved rest after your lessons.

Be aware that prices often vary from one booking app to another, so don't hesitate to do some research before booking if the idea is to save a little on the cost of your accommodation.

Easily accessible on foot from the dive site (and vice versa), you can also choose the Safir, which is very stylish and still offers reasonable prices.

About half or full board in hotels

Sharm el Sheikh hotels often offer full board. I don't think this is necessary, especially if the idea is to take full-time freediving courses. At Fanar Beach, the restaurant offers fresh fruit juices and quality dishes if you want to eat at lunchtime. My advice is to opt for half board if you wish. You can ask your hotel to prepare a doggy bag with your breakfast. I must remind you that it is always better to eat lightly before a freediving session or even to come to your course on an empty stomach if you can tolerate intermittent fasting.

Among the more affordable hotels, you have the Khan (25 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by taxi), the Falcon Hills, which is right next door, or the Amarsina, which is the next street over.

If you prefer to stay in an Airbnb, look in the Hadaba neighborhood, for example, near the Dahab Center, where you can easily do your shopping. Keep in mind that depending on the season, it can get quite hot, and walking in the full sun for more than 20 minutes can be a bit tiring.

In case you need a reminder of where the dive spot is located, here's Deep Zen Meditation & Freediving Google Map page:

About taxis and the inDrive app

You'll be honked at by taxis, that's the way it goes. Also know that prices often depend on the customer. It can become pretty boring.

Download the inDrive app and choose the driver who offers the best price. You'll pay in Egyptian pounds, so it's best to have the correct change to avoid drivers who will pretend they don't have any.

InDrive is similar to Uber, it's very convenient. Just know that the prices proposed automatically by the app are quite low.

STEP 5 - REGISTRATION IN AIDA EOS
(if you've chosen AIDA course option)

If you have opted for an AIDA certified course, I will register you on the platform (AIDA EOS) where you can find the corresponding textbooks, guidelines and manuals for your freediving course.

I advise you to study this textbook and ideally to take the online exam before to come in Sharm el Sheikh.

We'll be in contact anyways, i'll explain you...

STEP 6 - YOU'RE GOOD TO GO... HOW TO PREPARE?

If there's one thing I strongly advise against, it's embarking on this adventure alone. Don't venture out and test your freediving skills on your own before starting your course; it's the best way to injure yourself and ruin your course, if not your vacation.

Just eat a balanced, high-quality diet, drink plenty of water, and possibly take vitamins and minerals supplements before you arrive.

See you there
